The Year 2005
2005 came and went....and all that i remember from it is that I grew older.... :( Come to think of it..theres more to the year..let me try and get some memorable (not that memorable also :P) moments of my life
1) hmmmm..this has to be top-of-pops.: Endured a split...a break-up and man..its more difficult than i thought it'd be :(. but now..been there done that...its a plus that we are still friends :)
2) I own a car ...yipppppppppppppppppppeee...it costed me less than my laptop...hehehe..but its MY CAR...and i love it.
3) Got my first paper selected for a conference...just 4 days back...for some statistics confo in Hawaii...looks the new years going to be good :)....maintaining a 4 GPA in the US in transpo is piece of cake :D...
4) Played footer to my heart's content and also dabbled in more sport :)...always good fun!!! and gatorade rocks..wish i were in some chemistry stuff and made some moneymaking formula like this......
5) made a few mad trips to NYC..and Miami...took lotsa "Patel pics" (the sort..where theres some special building or place etc..and u snap solo with it..so that u know u were there..silly but i like it)
6) oops..this had to be higher in the rankings and hence, lower down in the order....Adopted a kid (ASHA for education)...felt older...but also nicer.:)
7) Bought a handycam..and took lotsa sleazy videos :D..uploaded one at video.google.com.. type in Lord Vishnu...i promise u its good fun :)
8) Read LOTR again and again...why didnt my dad write like that?? i would have become a better, more enthu person.
9) For the first time...feel like an Indian citizen..am actually affected by stuff that happens back home..and argue with ppl when they talk nonsense abt my country :)..fistfight nearly..thank god i didnt..the dude was a 6 footer from poland!!! kryzno****************kz..something
10) got offered a phd by my prof...thought i had stuff in me..my prof did.. and it felt good :)
11) saw friends..jumping jobs...unsure abt future...thanked god..that inspite of all my cribbings..was atleast safe..cozy and secure :)
12) saw the devastations...the aftermath of the Tsunami..the earthquake in Kashmir..the hurricanes closer to where i am..Florida..and the London blasts..Concluded that life is but ephemeral..enjoy it while it lasts :) iwish people were less violent though...and less fascist too.
13) as a result of the above..did a lot of vela stuff...like this silly blog...orkut..and stickcricket.. also..lotsa shopping..pigging (no..it does not mean humping a pig..it means..eating like a pig).. and who remembers where else my time was wasted..oh yeah..Muvico..saw n number of movies..
14) turned nocturnal..for the good part of the year...found that it suited me better...realized..that i was an unsocial animal...and that night life is WILLLLLLLLLD
15) supported the indian cricket team..gave them my sleep...inherited dark circles....and was happy to see an invigorated indian team..ganguly sucks though !!!
16) turned into an awesome cook..really..no kidding..and a clean freak...do not know with what emotion i look at these two traits...will keep in good stead in the near..forseeable..bachelor life :)
17) took bath every single day of the year...has to be the first year of my life that this has happened....yipppeeeee!!!!
18) 17 happened..cos i was not sick in the whole year..never..not even once...touch wood..now where is my kewl armchair.when i want it...
19) realized that friends..who are always there for you are a rarity..and that i am lucky enugh to have a handful of them.....u know who you are!!! i know too.. love ya guys n girl (or is it "s") hmm...lets make it girls..:)
20) saw frds getting married..and talking abt squabbles..and responsibilities...thank god..!!!! not going down that road..for atleast half-a-decade!!!
21) anils a leech...and will become big..leeching lotsa ppl on the way...:)..no one else merits a mention for special traits such as this...
22) turning bald..knackered knee...small paunch...all signs of old age..sigh..plus two of my best frds turned uncles...(they have a nephew and a niece..god bless the kids)..and whenever i talk to my frds.its abt..remember those days..all signs of senility...
23) akka and sanjeev and her remarkable marathon run and his half-marathon..to raise funds for orphaned kids in india..you are simply the best ra ...man...i wish i had ur motivation and good intentions..
24) ma..for making me what i am today..u are awesome..special..and simply superb.....:)
24= my age...had to come up with atleast 24 special remembrances...actually some of them are repetitive...more clues to the fact that i suck..
forgot to add geocaching..and paintball..cool fun things :) a must-do esply with femme frds.. its fun to see their expressions when they get hit..or see a spider..when geocaching..priceless :)))
