Anurag...saying I completely agree with you regarding your deleted post is redundant. Im not saying I know everything behind the curtains but what you said were exactly my thoughts on the whole issue. Its a political gimmick for votes and this is as rational a thought as it can get.

If theres anyone who can actually point out the fallcy of this line of thinking Im more than willing to listen to that person with as little prejudice as is humanly possible.

An interesting post arguing for affrimative action and reservations. the authors point that creating reservation on only economic grounds misses the angle of social discrimination.

it's funny how the very word "govern" has taken a different meaning all together in recent times. after close to 60 yrs of independence we still dont have primary education, health, food and drinking water....in short, basic amenities taken care of and they play arnd with lives of the very ppl who r gonna carry the nation fwd and make the difference. everyone knows the social disparity and narrowing it is the least of the concerns of any politcal party.......but what amazes me is the extent of their depravity : they wudn't stop short at sucking the country dry. first it was murli manohar joshi trying to play arnd with IIMs: NDA lost elections and i was like ok.... phew we just escaped from a disastrous ploicy.......and then this whole reservation thing is thrown at unsuspecting students....and what kinda democracy is this where the citizen concerns are ignored so blatantly and merit has no place under the sun??? guess, i can go on and on like all of us................

@ moi... well..if u have the patience.. i would love to give a sermon..as to why.. reservations make sense..if implemented in a careful manner... but sadly things are never done well!!
and merit has a place in the sun..but the Govt. has also got to uplift certain sections of society..moral obligations.

this present stunt is nothing but an election gimmick!!! i agree... but its not something that can be thrown outta the window...!!

@moi.. the problem lies with us right! we elect these bloody guys... so the buck stops with us does it not???!!!! i agree that the govt. is turning more and more autocratic... all the more reason for us to fight back eh mate!

@megha... frankly..i would hate to be out of touch ra...i want to know whats happening in my country..atleast.. first hand...come on..if everyone takes such a lackadaisical approach to things..and then say tch tch..whats happening... then thats bull crap!!!
either way..this is an open ended conversation :)
