Passion Play Begins here.. ( cheap shot on Ro)

I always support the underdog...so does every tom and kee... how many countless movies have been made of the underdog coming trumps..one of them that touched me when i was a kid is "jo jita wohi sikandar"...a story about a kid from a poor neighborhood... winning a long distance cycle race being pitted against opponents who had the money to afford the very best and also the clout to use unfair means along the way.. i knew the underdog would win..but i still sat enthralled as the movie came to a close... :) and was willing the protagonist on..all the way to the finish line..and even held my breath till he actually pipped the outrageous villain to the tape :)..
and what i witnessed yday had to be a "David and Goliath" sort of moment..something that one hopes to see once in his lifetime, "to see the repressed fight back and drive away the oppressors" ... but not many do... and boy was i ecstatic at the end of it or what?? i love happy endings i think....:)
Seeing SA chase down 434 in a one-day international was incredibly amazing... for starters, i never thought scoring 400 was possible in a one-day game..esply not when the teams involved are as evenly matched as Aus and SA... but to see it happen twice in a game...amazing.. :) ..a spectacular team effort...good luck for the batsmen..not so much of the luck for the fielding team...made it the "greatest one-day game ever". its been officially labelled..that shows how everyone thinks this is a freak of nature ..something that wont happen again... :)
We have been lucky to witness some really spectacular matches in the recent past...
who in the world can forget livpool coming back from 0-3 down at half-time to win the European Cup in 2005 against the mighty AC Milan or India following on in kolkata against the hugely talented australians before laxman and dravid scripted that famous eden garden win, the glowing feather in saurav ganguly's cap as captain or for that matter... greece winning Euro 2004, with supposedly a team made of almost amateurs pitted against the superstars of the top football clubs of the world....
One thing that stands common in all these victories..apart from the fact that i saw them all and freak luck... is PASSION.. all the victories were achieved by a combination of reasonable talent, well harnessed with steely determination and backed by adrenaline..and pumping fists......(well not in the literal sense..but you could see it in the eyes..)
too many people forget to give credit to what can be achieved by pure spirit and an undying attitude.... (including the famous inter-wing footer game that we won and retired from football in iit ...:D ) To this spirit.. i toast.. and i imbibe into myself...its nectar :)
To Meghamsh: this does not mean that ur catch line must be " I HAVE TO WIN" no no no.. it just has to be " I WILL NEVER GIVE IN..and PLAY FAIRLY YET PLAY HARD" :)

An afterthought: this is something i saw somewhere..and it really made a lot of sense to me ..

"We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors...but they all have to learn to live in the same box."

I AM JOBLESS..so forgive me if this looks like a chat session :)

@anon: first... please give me ur name..
well...i am a sports fanatic..so i am biased towards sport.. but history has numerous tales of incredible victories of the humble beating the great.. including the ramayana..and the mahabharata.. its just that we relate small numbers with good virtues..cos we want to show that good virtues can win it all..no matter what the odds.. its a lil far-fetched..but thats what we have all been brought up on :)
i dont know if i have said anything meaningful :D...but u get the train of thought right :)
