a friend of a friend's love poem...:)

She’s a feast for my eyes,

She’s where all my interest lies;

The expression on my face belies

The feelings I try to hide in a guise;

Her dazzling smile, her impish face,

Almighty Lord, I rest my case:

She awes me, and I’m in a daze,

I feel I’m drawn into a maze!

Till the kitten purrs and till the hound bays,

I’m all hers till the end of days!

Every day I sit and laze,

I’m enveloped in a haze;

As night goes by, at the stars I gaze,

My friends tell me, “It’s just a phase!”

But I know better, and am all praise,

For Cupid’s struck, and given chase!

She’s my goal,

With her, I’m whole,

I don’t mind missing Super Bowl,

While I serenade to her from the depths of my soul!

But, I’ve had an afterthought:

Does she like me or does she like me not?

Life, right now, consists of zeros and ones,

And my poem, right now, is full of puns;

A penny for her thoughts, a nickel, a dime,

I’ll do anything to make my poem rhyme!

Since I’ve paid attention to every little detail,

I feel this poem of mine shan’t fail;

But if it does, I’ll have a ruse,

To pray, worship, to sit and muse!

God’s given me the gift of verse,

To tell her: You’re His Gift to the universe!

The gist of this poem is, my dearest,

I shan’t ask you out until it’s at your behest!

Don’t consider this to be a jest,

‘Coz for me this is an acid test,

So please tell me the answer to my quest,

That’s all is my sincere request,

I hope with your reply, my heart soars,

If my poem flatters you, well, you’re the source!
